Dusty.

Things have gotten dusty around here. I don't even have any good excuse. I will try harder, but in the meantime here is a mix.

A Return to Thanksgiving.

This is the first year i've been in the with family and in the United States for Thanksgiving in three years. As my favorite holiday of the year, it's been a bit rough having to explain Thanksgiving to people in London, trying to explain the history, trying to explain why you need so many different vegetable sides. But the hardest thing of all was not having my mom by my side to ask advice and have someone else to share the cooking with. This year was a return to the norm, and a return to Thanksgiving with family and friends, and my was it wonderful.

Birthday Cakes & Downed Trees.

This year's birthday came at the same time that Sandy did. This meant a very quiet day at home spent making a cake, and having it with champagne and family. But it also meant spending the day walking around outside surveying all the trees that had fallen down. It's strange to look out your bedroom window and see the sky when you're used to seeing a big, old pine tree.

Bond, James Bond.

James Bond is one of my long time loves, thanks to growing up with a boxed set that i used to watch on repeat with my dad. Instead of girly movies it was always James Bond and Speed Racer marathons for us. This year marks the 50th anniversary of Bond, and conveniently that means lots of amazing events surrounding the films. MoMa is doing a film series, and i honestly can't wait.

A Wedding Down South.

The last ten days i was in Georgia, helping in any way possible with my cousin's wedding. Now, in hindsight, it's pretty crazy how much work goes into a DIY wedding, and it's all for three hours of a reception. All in all, it turned out really wonderfully, but honestly, the best part was getting to see family i hadn't seen in years. I'm still trying to catch up on sleep.
