17 Hours Until Game Time

The day before Thanksgiving at my house meant baking more than i had in the past few days. Two pumpkin pies, a pumpkin pie cheesecake with gingersnap crust, an apple galette, a pear almond tart, cranberry lemon crumpets and apple cinnamon syrup later... my day is over.

More Chocolate Than A Human Needs

The first cookie baking happened today. These are ridiculously decadent chocolate cookies, adapted slightly from this recipe. Surprisingly fast to make even though there are a few steps involved. Highly recommended for those who love chocolate.

Paris & London

In a place where it is hard at times to find a modern hotel, Mama Shelter Paris comes to the rescue. Tucked away from all of the tourist traps, Phillipe Stark designed a place where modern meets fun.

On the flip side, London's Rough Luxe strips the standard hotel down to the basics for beautiful rooms, with all of the classic amenities.

Home, Pt. 1.

Two discoveries that I've had at home.

One: it's REALLY easy to make your own bread. Check it out. This recipe is something everyone should try.

Two: Pear cider is dangerously good.

'Tis the season.

Today's tactic in the neverending quest for procrastination techniques was to look for Christmas gifts for people (and myself, obviously). I think a few sites are worth sharing that i stumbled upon...

This jewelry maker, based in Brooklyn, makes wonderful necklaces and rings inspired by the woods, the ocean, and the skies. I own the 14 point stag ring, and while it can be somewhat dangerous because of the antlers, every time i wear it compliments are received. Fighting bear rings and telescope necklaces pretty much seal the deal for me.

Frequently homegoods websites make me yearn to have my own apartment. This site has been the most recent. It's for the more modern me, not the frilly, girly me.

I would buy things from this website if i was a much, much cooler person. Enough said.

Yup, you read right. Sometimes you just need a little Laura Ashley in your life. File this under the 'wishing i had an apartment' category as well.

This could go on for days, but then i'd have nothing to post about tomorrow. Enjoy.

I bet it's really cold in Ireland.

The little things.

Sometimes the things capable of making you the most simple kind of happy come in unexpected places. For instance, when you are finished eating a late night meal at a diner perched atop a hill, and stumble upon a room full of quarter vending machines. For 75 cents i bet you could make someone's day.
